Aberdeen Cyrenians are the latest recipients of Volunteer Friendly Award in Aberdeen.

The charity was assessed by Aberdeen Council of Voluntary Organisations (ACVO) on behalf of the award organisers late last year and has subsequently been praised for its commitment, time and value it gives to volunteering.

Scott Baxter, depute chief executive of Aberdeen Cyrenians, has paid tribute to the charity’s pool of volunteers. He said: “Aberdeen Cyrenians is delighted to be named as a recipient of the Volunteer Friendly Award.

“This award is a great opportunity to recognise the key role volunteers play in Aberdeen Cyrenians. Their support is truly invaluable in helping us run our important and necessary services across both Aberdeen and the north-east.”

Mike Melvin, Volunteer Friendly Award assessor at ACVO, said: “Aberdeen Cyrenian’s submission for the Volunteer Friendly Award was of an exceptional high standard and reflects the great commitment and value the charity gives to volunteering.
