The Volunteer Friendly Award is based on the national standard Investing in Volunteers (IiV) and the Management of Volunteers: National Occupational Standards 2008. A mapping exercise has been undertaken to illustrate the many links and overlaps between each of the components in each of the three models. The Volunteer Friendly team would welcome any feedback or further input to the mapping exercise.
"I have now adopted some new practice as a result of the award. For example, I have adopted an exit strategy format for interviewing volunteers prior to the conclusion of their volunteer agreements. This should help me to analyse their experience and consider any potential improvements as a result that might needed for future volunteers in similar roles."
